What did birthdays teach me

You may be thinking what will birthdays teach me other then spending a lot of money for gifts or partying hard. We will be thinking hard about the presents which we give on his r her birthday. Its quite common to give materialistic gifts which have no value. But when we do some thing with our hands it gives a special touch to it and is more valuable. In this process we will be learning new things. Just to see smile on our friends face we will be doing it and indirectly we are learning new thing
Birthdays were a driving force for me to learn new things. It helped me to think in a innovative way and give an innovative gifts to my friend. Here are few things which i have learnt due to my friends birthdays.

Subject that i thought was waste of time( C-programming)

1. I think it was the month of semester exams and i had no time to go out and buy a gift to my close friend. So i started thinking what could i give her in such small time and it should a different one one which will make her happy. Then suddenly a thought came to my mind. We were learning C language and i thought of writing a program which will consist of my message and she can see that message only if she answers my Questions correctly. I worked on it for half a day and completed it successfully. When she saw my gift she was very happy :D . In this way i learnt something new and also it was free of cost :p .

2. Then came Rahul’s birthday so everyone i our group started planning to surprise him. But i wanted to give him a a unique gift which will last forever. So i learnt HTML and designed a webpage type of thing which consisted of all our wishes and photos. So whenever he wants see our messages he can just enter the URL and see them.

3. It was the month of September and my besties birthday was arriving. I had no plan what to give her. I was out of money as there were birthdays of 2 other friends also. An innovative idea struck my mind and thought of giving her a magazine which consists of all our messages and also our photos. For this i had to learn photo-shop and editing. Using these techniques i completed the magazine and present it as a gift on time :p

4. This was a funny affair. I had given a drawing as a gift to one of my friends. As she is an artist,i couldn't find a better gift to give it to her. Though the drawing did not come out properly i was above average.

When i became an App Developer

5. The last but a tough one was to build a small app. You could be thinking why is he building a app. I wanted to give this app as a birthday gift to my friend. So i started learning software which would help me to build a app. And i was successful in building a small app. Though it was a small app my friend was very happy seeing my effort i put in building it.

Till last year i was also thinking that birthdays were only to partyy hard and waste a lot of money buying gifts. But i was proved wrong by myself :p . So think you may also have learned a lot of things because of your friends birthdays.
