9 Most Haunted Places in the World


1.CHANGI BEACH , SINGAPORE


Changi Beach served as a ground for the Japanese during the Sook Ching battle of The Second World War. Thousands of Chinese died during this Operation as they were suspected of being anti-Japanese. Strange crying and screaming are reported by people. Today, visitors to Changi Beach report hearing screams and crying, as well as seeing ghostly heads flying through the air or headless bodies of the murdered Chinese victims walking along the beach. Visitors also report witnessing some of the mass executions and finding the sand soaked in blood upon examining it afterwards.
2.OHIO UNIVERSITY, ATHENS , AMERICA
Ohio University is known in state folklore as the most haunted college campus. Mainly haunted places in ohio university are
Jefferson hall: the story behind this building says that students were exploring the attic shortly after the beginning of fall quarter, 1996. In an unused room, sitting at a desk, they saw a woman who looked like a schoolteacher, dressed in 1950s fashions. After they tried to talk to her they noticed that she was transparent and floating above the ground. They ran and got their RA, and then returned to find the door securely locked with no one inside. After that, more strange things happened: lights flipped on and off, toilets flushed by themselves. One girl in a bathroom stall had the rolls of toilet paper in the neighboring stalls unroll all over the floor. When hers began to unroll by itself she ran screaming from the bathroom. A common disturbance here is the "marble sound," which often occurs even on the top floor of the building: the sound of someone dropping hundreds of marbles onto the floor above you. 
Shively hall: A female student living in Shively in the 1970s participated in cult ceremonies at nearby Hanning Cemetery, and when she stopped, experienced a number of unexplainable things in her dorm room. She felt like she was being pulled to the northeast, back toward Hanning, though what eventually happened to her is a mystery. 
And we have many other places like perkins hall,Crawford hall,cutler hall,Wilson hall and many as if the whole university is being haunted.

3.SCREAMING TUNNEL , NIAGARA FALLS


The tunnel runs under the railway tracks that link Niagara Falls to Toronto and New York City. Over a century ago, a farm house located near the tunnel caught fire one night. A girl, clothes engulfed in flames, ran screaming from the house into the tunnel in the attempts of putting it out. Unfortunately, she collapsed and died inside the tunnel. There are variations to this story. One states an enraged father sat his daughter on fire in the tunnel after learning his wife was rewarded custody of their kids in a nasty divorce battle. Another story reports that a young girl was raped inside the tunnel and her body was burned to cover the evidence. No one knows which version if any are true. However, what is known is that someone did die in the tunnel.
It was dubbed the Screaming Tunnel because they say if you stand in it and light a match you will hear a scream before the flame goes out.

4.BHANGARH FORT , INDIA


Bhangarh Fort is on way from Jaipur to Alwar in Rajasthan, India. According to a legend, Singhia, a black magic tantrik cursed the palace so that everybody’s souls will stay there for centuries without rebirth. Another interesting point is, all the houses in this area are without roofs because whenever a house is built with roof, the roof collapses. This is the called most haunting place in India. People who visit this place experience anxiety and restlessness. It is said that nobody returns from this place that stays there after dark. Government prohibited this area from staying after sunset. You will find a board installed by Archaeological Survey of India displaying STAYING AFTER SUNSET IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN THIS AREA.

5.HIGHGATE CEMETERY , NORTH LONDON


By night, Highgate Cemetery is like something out of a horror movie. Strange crooked gravestones, dark overgrown passages between the tombs, it’s no wonder this is Britain’s number-one ghost spot. It’s also the burial place of Karl Marx. Hauntings that took place are:
·         The most famous spook in this cemetery is The Highgate vampire, who is not really a vampire in the classic sense, but a phantom that is described as a 7-foot-tall, dark male figure with piercing, hypnotic eyes and wearing a long black coat and high top hat; he seems to vanish into thin air. There have been several dozen sightings and encounters since the late 1960s.
·         A man whose car broke down near the cemetery came face to face with a ghoul with glowimg red eyes that peered at him through the graveyard's iron gates.
·         The ghost of an insane old woman has been seen racing among the gravestones, her gray hair flowing behind her as she searches for her children, whom she allegedly murdered.

6. ANCIENT RAM INN, GLOUCESTERSHIRE, ENGLAND

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, a trip to the Ancient Ram Inn is an unsettling experience. Its creaky floorboards, bare walls, musty smells and narrow spaces is a perfect example of haunted house. Apparently it’s built on a pagan burial ground. One popular legend surrounding the Ancient Ram Inn is that of the witch burned at the stake. She was burned at the stake in the 1500s. It was the prosecution of people who did not believe and practice Christianity as sanctioned by the government. A lot of people believe that the woman’s spirit still haunts one of the rooms of the house to this day. It is believed that the woman took refuge in one of the rooms of the house before she was captured and killed.  Today, that room is called “The Witch’s Room”.

7.MONTE CRISTO, NEW SOUTH WALES                                                  


Monte Cristo, Australia’s most haunted mansion is located in Junee, New South Wales. Mrs Crawley, the owner of the house never came out of her home after the death of her husband in 23 years of her remaining life except for two times. After her death her ghost haunts the place particularly her former room. Body-less ghost, ghost face in the window, strange and ghostly voices, automatic turning on and off lights are some haunting experiences of the people. Some people reported that when they entered the boy’s bed room they were breathless and turned purple, they became normal after coming out from the room. Monte Cristo is visited annually by well over 100 ghost hunters per year, it is one of the most popular Ghost Haunts in Australia today. Owners Reg Ryan, his wife and family welcome ghost hunters and those interested in Paranormal Research. They have a collection of ghostly photographs that have been taken at the house over the years and are always on the hunt for more.

8. DOMINICAN HILL, BAGUIO CITY, PHILIPPINES


According to some people the ghosts of people who died during the war haunt this place. Some say the patients who died here despite having the hope to be alive turned into ghosts. Hearing the banging of doors, windows, and screaming voices during night are reported by people.A number of stories and documentaries also have been written on this mysterious and haunted building. People who reside nearby also have heard various mysterious sounds of banging doors, crying of agonized people and many more. One can notice that the doors and windows of the nearby houses here are painted with holy crosses and are kept shut after darkness prevails. Recently this haunted hotel one of the most popular historical attraction to its viewers in Philippines have turned to museum. The building has seen many changes through years. At first it used to be a refugee camp, housing and then a hotel. It is one of the most haunted and interesting site for paranormal investigators.

9. BERRY POMEROY CASTLE, TOTNES TOWN, ENGLAND


There are a number of legends associated with this 14th-century castle, and it has a reputation of being haunted. It has 2 famous female ghosts; the White Lady and the Blue Lady. According to legend the White Lady is the spirit of Margaret Pomeroy, who suffered while imprisoned in the dungeons by her jealous sister. Apparently she haunts the dark dungeons, and rises from St Margaret’s Tower to the castle walls. The Blue Lady is not confined to specific areas and is supposed to lure people into parts of the ruin. Apparently it’s a very bad idea to follow her!
