A culture in Germany

Marriages are made in heaven. But pre-marriage parties are certainly not. There are weird things and happenings. But this is at another level. Germany, one of the most powerful countries in the world is the land for a tradition that is never heard of before.

It is genuine that before a wedding, the families of both the sides meet up, and spend some quality time to get to know each other well. In some traditions, there is an engagement before the wedding as a sign of warning that either the bride or bride-groom doesn’t run away. But in Germany, it is different. A party is organized where all the family members of both the bride and groom are invited. Later, both the bride and the groom are asked to break the plates, tiles, flower pots.. in fact anything other than glasses and mirrors.

And that’s not the end. The bride and bride-groom are asked to clean the entire place. This is to make sure that both of them understand each other well and also symbolizes how both of them will work together in future and face difficulties together. Surely the people dealing with the business of making plates, flower pots, tiles, etc., eagerly look forward for this traditional event before every marriage to keep their business stakes at an all time high level.
