ISL (INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE)




ISL is also known as INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE it is officially given name as Hero Indian super League for the purpose of sponsorship, it is a professional football league in India which is started recently. This league is kept in an auction format, similar to IPL to finding out the young talent in India and providing the Indian players to interact with the experienced foreign players to learn something new. It will consist of eight franchise teams from all around India. The league matches will be held from October to December, providing entertainment to the people and ending the tournament with a champion.


The Indian Super League was founded in 2013 was an very interesting effort kept forward to improve the quality of the players in India and develop that sport in India and to make it worldwide. The ISL will not use the promotion and relegation system. Instead, the ISL will use a franchise system in which eight teams will be created to participate in the league.The inaugural Season of ISL started on October 12, 2014 was a well promoted and lot of hype was created about Indian Super League.


FORMAT OF THE LEAGUE:-
            
 During the normal season, each team will play each other twice one at home and another away .The top four teams at the end of the season will qualify for the semi-final stage. The semi-finals will be played in a two-legged format with the winners moving onto the one-legged final.

 Each team must sign at least one marquee player and they must also sign seven other overseas players and out of these seven overseas players, only two will be signed directly by the club with the other five coming from the foreign player draft. Each team must a have atleast 14 Indian domestic players, four of them should be local players of the city which they are playing in.

            


TEAM NAMES,TEAMS , STADIUMS:-




Atletico de Kolkata:-
OWNER:-There is involvement from a certain Spanish club. The fans in Bengal have a club part-owned by La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, Sourav Ganguly is the also the owner of the club. The cricket legend wants to get involved in football. The state of Bengal makes up India's most passionate football players at past.

COACH:-The Spanish dominence continues in the form of Antonio Lopez. The 57-year-old coach may not have made many headlines in the local media, but his experience is brilliant. He has had many memorable moments at Valencia, Granada and Celta Vigo as well as he was incharge of the Bolivia national team.


CHENNAIYIN:-
OWNERS:-India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the co-owner of this franchise along with Abhishek Bachchan, Chennai does not participate in the current I-League, there are millions of fans that don't currently have a club to support. Chennaiyin could be a club for them to support.
COACH:-Marco Materazzi is one of the most interesting appointments in the league. There will be lots of people inside India and out who will be very interested to see how the Italian gets on in his player-coach role. He is here to build a new team and challenge other teams to be a champion.
DELHI DYNAMOS:-
OWNERS:-There would be no point of a leauge with out considering a team from capital. It is owned bye one of India's leading cable distribution companies, DEN Networks, operates the club, and there is also a partnership with Feyenoord.
COACH:-It is reliable to say that Harm van Veldhoven is not exactly going to get the club  fans excited. The Belgian coach does however have a solid background in his homeland, and has performed well in the Netherlands with Roda SC an underdog.

FC GOA:-
OWNERS:-Goa FC were born on the lights of Videocon, an electronics company with wealthy businessmen and cricket star Virat Kohli, one of the biggest names in Indian cricket in the present situation.
COACH:-Zico has more experience in Asian football than any of his coaching , It is yet to be proved how his time with Japan and Iraq can benefit Goa. His playing career was a thing of magic. but , Zico will have to work hard to build a new team for GOA.
Kerala Blasters:-
OWNERS:-Blasters want to shoot the team to both national and international acclaim, and no one else would be better than mighty Sachin Tendulkar, the biggest cricket star in a nation of big cricket stars. Even the local football players are in awe, and the "master blaster" has teamed up with local businessmen to try to bring a first title to the city of Kochi.
COACH:-David James is the player-manager, and the former England goalkeeper .The more experienced English coach has experience in the I-League, taking East Bengal to a succession of trophies from 2010 to 2013. His knowledge and coaching capabilities will be a huge help and in general,     It will be interesting to see how the former Liverpool man performs for kerla.
Mumbai City:-
OWNERS:-They are backed by Ranbir Kapoor, who signed for Barcelona in 2011 to be their brand ambassador in India. A good start could see fans getting behind the team in a big way.
COACH:-Peter Reid has plenty of experience in England, both as player and coach. Winner of two league titles with Everton and England's player of the year in 1985, he represented his country at the 1986 World Cup. He led Manchester City to two successive fifth-place finishes. He took Sunderland to successive seventh-place finishes in the Premier League.
North-east United:-
OWNERS:-Sanjiv Narain, owner of one-third of the club, walking out over a disagreement with colleagues that include actor John Abraham and local I-League club Shillong Lajong. There have already been some backroom wrangles and falling out.
COACH:-Ricki Herbert, the man who took New Zealand through the 2010 World Cup unbeaten, including a thrilling draw against holders Italy. The 53-year-old has plenty of experience working with new clubs in a proper manner.
Pune City:-
OWNERS:-Salman Khan is working with Serie A side Fiorentina to provide an Italian flavour to the pune city, The infamous owners of former Premier League club Blackburn Rovers are also part of franchise.
COACH:-Franco Colomba has managed 16 Italian clubs, from Parma to little-known Olbia. With no experience outside of his homeland, India would not be the easiest place for a first destination abroad.
