The snooze button-man’s one of the
best inventions until 9 minutes later when the dreaded alarm strikes again!!!
Except now you feel even more tired so you snooze again. Are those extra
minutes really helping at all??? Or is it a beginning of a never ending cycle
that ends you up in getting even more tired? In an unimaginable world without
alarm clocks our body would simply wake up naturally. Seems crazy right? But
our body has many chemical mechanisms not only to produce sleep but also to
wake up as well.
The body begins preparing in this arrow before you
naturally wake up. The body temperature rises, sleep
becomes light and hormones are released which gives energy to start your day!!
But the problem with your alarms is they often
interrupt your sleep cycle
Particularly if you don’t have a
regular sleep it means that your body isn’t ready and you feel tired and groggy and this state is
termed as SLEEP INERTIA.
The snooze button can do more damage
than good. As we fall back asleep the sleep cycle begins again and we enter
into deeper sleep stage.
As a result second alarm makes you
feel even more tired and so continues vicious cycle. So alternately set alarm
later and go to bed earlier.
So by breaking up those last 30
minutes of sleep you are more likely to feel tired, so try adopting more
regular sleep schedule.
· Wake up at same time every day even
during weekends and after a few weeks your body should adapt to this
· Try to reduce snooze temptations, as
the saying goes
YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE!!!
